Target Audience:
Faculty and students from the University of Hawaii, and Clinicians, Researchers and Research Support Staff (including Project Managers, Study Coordinators, and Research Associates/Assistants) based in the community who are interested in multidisciplinary community-based participatory research.

Description:
Dr. Deborah Koniak-Griffin's research focuses on development and evaluation of health promotion/disease prevention interventions to eliminate health disparities in vulnerable populations. She is the Director of the Center for Vulnerable Populations Research, and has led efforts to train professionals in community-based participatory approaches in research and education. Her presentation will provide valuable information on multidisciplinary research strategies in community based participatory research, team functioning, and mentoring skills particularly geared to community-based investigators from divergent disciplines.
