Target Audience
Clinicians, Researchers and Research Support Staff (including Project Managers, Study Coordinators, Research Associates/Assistants) from community agencies and organizations who are interested in learning basic concepts in research design, methodology and data analysis.

Workshop Description
The basic biostatistics workshop will cover the basic concepts and statistical models most commonly used in real data analysis. The topics include database setting up, basic principles for experimental design, exploratory data analysis, t-tests, analysis of variance (ANOVA), linear regression, chi-square test, and logistic regression. The data analysis will be illustrated using the Microsoft Excel Data Analysis toolbox and the statistical analysis software JMP 10 (a free 30 day trial could be downloaded from http://www.jmp.com).
